LANSING, Mich. — Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt, R-Porter Township, on Wednesday issued the following statement applauding the state House for passing bipartisan legislation to provide a long-term road funding solution:
“The House has put forward a strong bipartisan package of legislation to properly fund investments into Michigan’s crumbling roads without raising taxes. I look forward to taking up this commonsense road funding plan in the Senate without delay. The finish line is now in sight for this long-awaited and greatly needed plan to fix our roads. Now is not the time for political games. The people of Michigan deserve real solutions. Senate Republicans are ready to get to work and hope Senate Democrats will join us to drive this legislation home for the residents of this state.”
