LANSING, Mich. — Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt, R-Porter Township, on Wednesday released the following statement in response to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s morning economic address in Washington, D.C.:
“It’s ironic that Gov. Whitmer is in D.C. this morning preaching about jobs while Michigan is drowning in one of the nation’s worst unemployment messes under her failed leadership. Since 2019, we’ve lost manufacturing jobs faster than almost anyone, alongside California and New York.
“She’s too busy chasing headlines and photo ops to care about the 35th District’s missing voice in the state Senate or the families she’s left behind. Her so-called bipartisanship? It’s a sham. Her policies choke our economy, and this Washington speech was just another selfie moment for her, not a real lifeline for Michigan’s workers.”
